Moe's Place

GENRE: Dramedy
TYPE: Short Screenplay
LOGLINE: Roadkill earns a place on the daily menu at a back-woods couple’s roadside café.

SYNOPSIS:

Moe and his wife Penelope take their daily early morning drive through the mountain forest. As their rickety old pickup chugs around a wide turn in the dirt road, the couple encounters one of the sad realities of man’s infringement on animal habitat: a road-killed animal. Moe stops to take a closer look; eventually throwing the carcass into the back of the truck. Continuing along the road—and around another bend—they come upon yet another dead critter at the side of the road. This furry victim joins the first in the back of the truck and the routine repeats itself again and again until Moe and Penelope finally arrive at their destination: a rustic roadside café named “Moe’s Place” where the daily menu depends entirely on local critters’ failure to safely cross the roads.
