About Michael

Michael Hogan is a former corporate marketing exec and serial entrepreneur, turned screenwriter and director. His scripts and latest short film have netted over 380 festival and competition awards globally–including more than 130 outright “Winners”–since 2019. In 2021, Michael directed his fourth film, “Breaking & Entering”, a provocative and edgy dark drama based on his script that garnered 26 “Best Short Screenplay” awards. On the festival circuit, Breaking & Entering won over 35 “Best Short Film” and “Best Director” accolades (in addition to dozens more for actress Kiri Hartig and crew).

As a screenwriter, Michael’s knack for unique and authentic storytelling has achieved broad appeal among “underserved audiences”; those not enamored by today’s “Hollywood” fare. From Mainstreet USA to India, Australia, Germany and many other countries, these film lovers value genuine stories and believable characters over forced compliance with ideological quotas. While this may be viewed as sacrilege among industry elites, Michael simply points to the consistent trend of mind-blowing financial losses sustained by investors and studios ignoring the quiet majority worldwide who have very little interest in movie fare that puts identity and ideological quotas above authentic characters and story quality.
