SYNOPSIS:

SARAH DRAKE (30s) and her dentist husband ALEX DRAKE (30s) are visited by an old college friend and fellow sailor, MYLES O’KEEFE (30s). The brief reunion puts a spotlight on how loveless the Drake’s marriage has become; and makes apparent that prior sparks between Sarah and Myles have never been fully extinguished.

In an attempt to reinvigorate their marriage, Alex sets plans for a cruise through the South Pacific aboard their sailboat, the 2th Doctor. On the homeward legs of their weeks-long journey, a pirate gang led by REYNALDO (30s), robs them of money, jewelry, guns and pot. When Sarah also offers her one-of-a-kind gold and bejeweled skeleton key pendant—a gift from Alex—Alex aggressively objects and is shot by Reynaldo.

Sarah is set adrift on a dinghy and watches as the 2th Doctor, with Alex still aboard, burns and begins to sink as she drifts away into the night. Following days adrift, Sarah is rescued by PRESCOTT MEIWES (50s), who has one leg amputated below the knee, and is the lone occupant of a tiny, uncharted island.

Unbeknownst to Sarah, former lover Myles has also been sailing the South Pacific. Late one night in a seedy club in Tahiti, Myles spots Sarah’s skeleton key pendant around the neck of a tough-looking gang thug, Reynaldo. This sets Myles in motion to follow Reynaldo and his gang of pirates in hopes of finding Sarah.

Back on the tiny island, Sarah learns bits and pieces about Prescott’s recent, seedy past and becomes suspicious about the circumstances behind his amputated leg and the true source of the sudden bounty of “sea iguana” meat.

Myles uncovers clues to track Sarah, but a cunning Reynaldo turns him from hunter, to hunted.

Unaware of each other’s circumstances, Sarah and Myles race against the clock in entangled struggles driven by love, the ultimate taboo and the will to survive. The stakes are high, as death could come quickly…or agonizingly and horrifically slow.
